Cecile B. DeMille proposes to Constance Adams

The two actors become engaged at a New Year’s Eve Party in a rooming house at 9 Beacon Street, where both were staying while appearing in a play together in Boston. DeMille had earlier impressed Adams by pulling a lion cub off a startled Mayor George Hibbard in the downstairs lobby.
